Sustainability is also about health.

When we talk about sustainability in interior design, the discourse often remains on the surface: recycled materials, green certificates or “eco” finishes. But true sustainability goes beyond the label. It includes thinking about how a space accompanies the life of those who inhabit it. How it takes care of their health, well-being and daily balance.

Because a home doesn’t just have to be beautiful. It has to be livable. Healthy.

When designing a house renovation, it is not only necessary to think about square meters or distributions. In Sezam Studio we always start from a premise: What does this person need to live better in this space? And that has a lot to do with both sustainability and daily health.

  • Indoor air quality. A poorly ventilated home or one with poorly breathable materials ends up accumulating invisible pollutants: formaldehyde, particles, humidity… That is why we work on cross ventilation, select paints free of toxic emissions and materials that do not saturate the indoor air.

  • Well-managed natural light. Light regulates our biological rhythms. A space with controlled light inputs, correctly oriented and with adequate sun protection not only saves energy: it improves rest, productivity and mood.

  • Distribution that accompanies the routine. A poorly distributed house is exhausting: unnecessary routes, dead corners, wasted passageways. Designing thinking about how each family moves within their home is also sustainable, because it reduces daily wear and optimizes physical and mental energy.

Less is more (but well-thought-out)

Sustainability is not filling our homes with technology or “eco” elements, but knowing when not to put and what to avoid.

  • Do not saturate spaces.
  • Avoid materials that age poorly or require maintenance.
  • Design enough storage to avoid chronic clutter.
  • Choose durable finishes that do not need to be replaced after a short time.

Because a home designed to last is, from the start, much more sustainable than any seasonal trend.

Spaces that regulate thermal comfort (without compromising the bill)

Good thermal insulation, well-chosen exterior carpentry, mobile solar protection and good orientation can drastically reduce the use of air conditioning.
It’s not just about spending less. It is about living in a thermally stable environment, without extremes, which the body appreciates without you noticing it.

Noise, the invisible pollutant

Silence is also a form of sustainability. Environmental noise – from the street, from neighbors, from the building itself – affects rest, concentration and mental well-being. That is why we recommend:

  • Quality acoustic enclosures.
  • Sound-absorbing and noise-dampening wall coverings.
  • Distributions that separate rest areas from areas of active use.

To live in a space that respects silence is to live better, every day.

Sustainability is integral care

At Sezam Studio, we understand that sustainability in interior design does not begin with the materials catalogue. It begins the moment someone enters your home and feels protected, supported and cared for in a natural way.

It’s not about going “green”.

It is about considering the invisible: the air, the light, the sound, the routes, the rest and the personal energy of the person experiencing it.

Thinking of renovating? At Sezam Studio, we design interiors that look good and function well.
