Renovation project for the Barcelona Chocolate Museum
Contract spaces that need to be renovated
Need
The Barcelona Chocolate Museum is an iconic space in the city, recognized for its tourist value as well as its educational and family-friendly vocation. In addition to its shop and tasting area, the museum offers workshops and activities for audiences of all ages.
Owned by the Barcelona Confectioners’ Guild, the museum opened its doors in 2000 in the historic grounds of the Sant Agustí Vell convent. Since then, it has welcomed thousands of visitors each year and has established itself as the most representative exhibition of chocolate monas in the city. However, over time, the exhibition space had become outdated and required a complete renovation
Project Challenge
Update the museum space to make it more attractive, dynamic, and functional, creating a tour that would offer a fun, interactive, and multisensory experience, with updated content and new exhibition resources adapted to all audiences.
Solution
We designed a flexible tour that explores the history of chocolate, the history of the Pastry Chefs’ Guild, and the tradition of Easter cakes. The project focused on stimulating the senses through the use of colors, aromas, sounds, textures, and light effects, creating a series of memorable, educational, and immersive experiences for all visitors.
