Renovation of a house in Padilla Street (Eixample) for tourist rentals
Investor who buys a second home in Barcelona for her holidays and rents it out on a weekly basis for the rest of the year.
Need
Joanne needed a home with views of the Sagrada Familia to set up her project: to renovate a home in Barcelona to spend her holidays there (and those of her family), and rent it out for the rest of the year on a daily or weekly basis.
In this way, she would have a second home in Barcelona, designed to be enjoyed, spending pleasant evenings in front of the Sagrada Familia, and she would make the investment profitable by renting it out for a large part of the year.
Challenge of the project
With this goal in mind, Sezam Studio focused on the layout of the house to achieve three bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a large kitchen with an office and views to the terrace.
Solution
We focused on making a clear distinction between day and night areas, on the possibility of creating different atmospheres in the living room depending on the ‘mood’ of the guests, and we also suggested that there should be a touch of colour in the bathrooms.
We also took care to choose flooring, wall coverings, taps and sanitaryware that would be easy to maintain, use, repair and replace if necessary.
Once she had been involved in the project as an integral part of it, Joanne was responsible for buying the decoration and lighting that we installed in the house to make it ready to enjoy and let.
